Red Riding Hood

Lately I've been really bad about updating my dA D: I've been really busy working on a lot of things, and I usually forget/am too lazy to get around to uploading my new work.

Anyways! I made this costume for myself for the Renaissance Festival I attended last weekend. It's inspired by Red Riding Hood, but I chose to make it more toned down and simple. I used natural fabrics - wool and linen, to correspond with the proper fabrics of the time period. I also chose to use a more natural/ivory color with a darker red instead of bright red and white. While I was working on this, I decided to lace the sleeve ends and neckline (I know this probably isn't historically accuare, but I thought it looked cute). The lace was originally stark white, so I ended up tea dyeing it to have it match the ivory of the linen. I also made hair ties that go along with this, and I had a little basket I carried around all day :3 (I'll upload photos of me wearing this soon enough, along with the outfit I made for my bf.)
